RL Oceania is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the JBL Quantum Grand Slam for the year 2023! This year's tournament promises to be even bigger and better than before, featuring an extended path of online match days leading up to the exhilarating live finals at PAX Australia. With a JBL QUANTUM $10K prize pool up for grabs, teams will battle it out for their chance to claim the Grand Slam trophy and all-out glory.
Open Qualifiers - Saturday, August 12
This stage is open to all players from the Oceanic region and serves as the starting point for many on their journey to compete in the Grand Slam. From the Open Qualifiers, 16 teams will advance to the next stage.
Closed Qualifier - Sunday, August 13
Following the Open Qualifiers, the competition intensifies with the Closed Qualifier taking place on Sunday, August 13. Here, the 16 teams who advanced from the Open Qualifiers will face off to determine which teams will earn their place in the main arena. Only 8 teams will move on to the next stage.
Group Stage - August 19th to September 3rd - Saturdays and Sundays
The Group Stage is where the excitement truly escalates. The 8 Qualified Teams, along with 8 invited teams, will compete in two groups of 8 teams each. Over the course of three weeks, these teams will engage in a round robin format, battling it out for dominance. The top team from each group will secure a direct spot in the Finals, while the 2nd and 3rd place teams will advance to the Upper Bracket of the next phase. The 4th and 5th place teams will also have the opportunity to compete in the next phase, starting in the Lower Bracket. Preliminary Stage - September 9th and 10th
During this phase, the remaining 8 teams will fiercely contend for the last two spots at the Finals in Melbourne. The teams will engage in a thrilling Double Elimination bracket, with 4 teams starting in the Upper Bracket and 4 teams commencing in the Lower Bracket.
PAX Australia - Saturday, October 7th
Finally, the climax of the JBL Quantum Grand Slam, live from Melbourne, at PAX Australia. The four exceptional teams that have persevered throughout the online match days will battle it out for ultimate glory.
