That’s right, the crew from RL Oceania is teaming up with Torn Esports to bring the Oceanic Draft League back for season 5, bigger and better than ever! We’ve lined up almost 2 months of action, for teams to battle over their share of a $2,500 prize pool!
For those new to the ODL, the Oceanic Draft League is a competition where players of all skill levels can sign-up, to then be drafted by a team in either Division 1, Division 2, or Division 3.
Most teams in the Draft League are represented by existing Oceanic Esports Organizations.
The OCE Draft League, as the name suggests, is a draft league. Players sign-up as individual players, where they are then rated, and divided into divisions and tiers to determine their salary value.
Once this process is complete, we have a ‘Draft Day’ where team managers are
expected to build a team with a set budget per division, pertaining to the players' salary values.
This process is to help ensure a balance between teams for a more competitive environment across all 3 Divisions.
Once teams are drafted, each Division will compete through a League Play, where the top 8 teams per Division advance to Division Playoffs.
Sign-ups are now open for players wishing to participate in the Draft League this season! Sign-ups close on the 7th of June. Head over to the ODL Website to register!
The schedule for the 5th season of the Oceanic Draft League is as follows:
Sign-ups Close: 7th of June
Draft Day: 11th of June
League play: Every Sunday from the 18th of June to the 16th of July (5 weeks)
Playoffs: 22nd and 23rd of July
