Weekly Round Up
Drawing out this week we had the CyberGamer Season 3 finals for CGp and CGi played on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Unsurprisingly considering their form, Athletico managed to take CGp taking out Legacy round 1 4-1 then Abyss 4-2 in the semi's, finally beating them again in the finals 4-0. This continues their reign over Oce after RLOC. Then on Saturday we had CGi with Gameroos taking it out coming through the loser's bracket, losing round 1 to Furo 4-1 then winning losers round 1 4-0 against Team Erase. Then in a twist of fate they take out Furo 4-1 to vs Control in the finals winning the series in a close game 7 overtime. Out of this they managed to be the only team in CGi finals not to disband, though Erase reforming with Lukorice, Greeny and Effex.

1 - Athletico
Bango, SnarfSnarf, MontyConnor | Nil movement
Rocket League fans in Oceania will remember the thrilling origins of Athletico, first appearing on the scene under the Gameroos banner. After stunning the competitive scene by beating the top teams in the region, they were picked up by Nuovo, who'd just announced their arrival in the OCE scene. Under that organisation, the team excelled to the extent that they became THE team to beat. They have spent the winter season with targets on their backs and have done themselves proud. Throughout the season the hunted has been the hunter instead, knocking back every team that has taken a shot at them. They closed out the Winter Champs under Nuovo and were picked up by Athletico, playing out the CG Season under that name, and, unsurprisingly, emerging victorious again. Unsurprisingly, they have not fallen victim to the end of season shuffle. The new season will hopefully bring new tests to Athletico. They're undisputed Online Kings - what we need to see now is whether they can be LAN kings too! - Chrisis

2 - Abyss eSports
Addzey, Express | + 1
Abyss are back to number two! After some shaky weeks, Abyss have shown they are still a true force to be reckoned with. In CGp finals, they took home the silver medal and a cool $250, taking down Alpha Sydney twice in a day. However, as much as they appear to have Alpha Sydney's number, it also appears Athletico have theirs, losing 2 - 4 in winner's final and then 0 - 3 in the Grand Final. This puts them as a very clear #2 spot for OCE, but it seems the hurdle is still very large between #2 and #1 right now. With the season over, School Bus has left the team and Abyss are looking for their big replacement. With some big names joining LFT, I expect a big show by Abyss in the next month, already showing great results in Gameroos with Cyrix! - yumi_cheeseman

3 - Alpha Sydney
Stoney, Dicky, Dumbo | + 1
The recent Cybergamer Pro League finals saw Alpha Sydney continue a trend of being able to beat Legacy but unable to surpass the barrier that is Abyss. With the first round seeing Alpha lose to Abyss 4-2 in a back and forth series. The second round was an elimination match in the lower bracket against Legacy. In what was an extremely close series with 1 goal separating the teams in all but 1 match, Alpha continued their winning form against Legacy taking the series 4-2. This earned them a grudge match against Abyss in the loser bracket final with Alpha once again falling short against Abyss 4-1 ending their dreams of a top 2 spot.
Their third place finish in the CG Finals meant Alpha Sydney knocked out one of the favourites in the lower bracket elimination match (Legacy) and gave us high hopes for the team once again. They were able to display some of the Rocket League that has earnt them the title of the most individually talented players rising through the ranks. Moments of absolute brilliance regardless of the opposition make this team an absolute pleasure to watch, however, consistency with this team is becoming relevant as they appear to be their own worst enemy (not to mention the daunting prospect this team faces when going into overtime). They have performances that will see them take it to the top teams in Australia seemingly without much struggle and then quickly follow up with performances that wouldn't see them out of amateur. While this team's hot is molten lava, when it's not firing for them they can look outclassed on the field by most other top10 teams.

4 - Legacy eSports
Soma, Eren, Orion | - 2
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Legacy were coming into the CGp finals as one of the favourites to make the grand final yet surprisingly ended up bowing out in 2 straight losses. First off, they we're up against a very tough Athletico side in which they went down in a 1-4 series. Later on in the day, they were up against Alpha Sydney in a do-or-die situation with their CGp season on the line. Legacy lost this series 2-4 and ended a very disappointing CGp season for their standards placing 4th.
Legacy also entered Gameroos Tuesday in which they made it all the way to finals before losing 1-2 in a bo3 to Abyss.
It will be really interesting to see how this disappointing season affects Legacy overall. I do expect them to stay together and come back even stronger next season but only time will tell.

5 - Gameroos XD
yumi_cheeseman, aoe_emp, DabeastXD | Nil movement
Gameroos took out the finals of the CGi with a strong showing although having to do so through the loser's bracket after losing to the now disbanded FuroX in the first round. The grand final went to a deciding game 7 which went to overtime in an absolute thriller. Gameroos are looking like a force at the moment and when they turn up to play do very well. They do have a tendency to muck around in what might be considered 'lesser' tournaments and it cost them in the Tuesday Gameroos Tournament by not managing to make the Semi-Finals. However, when the pressure is on, this team thrives and they are deserving of maintaining their 5th spot.

6 - Another One
Cyrix, OssyOsbert, The Stig | + 1
Another One started the Winter season brimming with potential after a thrilling end to the previous Season. Fans will recall the thrilling LAN finals of CGPL where for a while it seemed that A1 could be the team to dethrone the team soon to become Legacy. But Winter has been disappointing for the-the Bearded Ones, ending both the RLOC Winter Season and CG Winter Invitational outside of the Top 4. There is something to be said for longevity, though, and Another One gain a ranking this week simply through having staying power that other teams do not have. One hopes that staying power can translate to determination and better success in the next season of Rocket League. - Chrisis

7 - Team Erase
Greeny, Lukorice, Effex | + 1
Team Erase put in a poor effort in the CGi finals, not winning a single game over 2 best of 7's against the now disbanded Control and the eventual winners Gameroos. They almost disbanded with 4 of the 5 players leaving. The captain Lukorice though returned back to the team to join back up with Greeny. they are now looking for another team member but have so far just avoided the oceanic disbanding spree. Greeny and Lukorice will need an additional to the team but after going very well with an extra against Legacy last Tuesday this team is still looking strong.
They get to move up the standings though due to the mass disbanding of teams. Though with this presents an opportunity as there are a lot of big OCE names on the market looking for a team.

8 - Singularity
Beatnik, Wolfeeyyy, Justice Robo | + 6 New
Singularity is the highest ranked of Cybergamer's Amateur division teams, benefiting hugely from the end of Season shuffle going on in Oceania right now. Regardless of their actual ranking in the Power Rankings, being highest ranked out of the Amateur teams must mean that they are favourites to win the CGa Finals on Sunday. They've lost only one game this season and that was early on. One would expect they've addressed the issues that lead to that loss and are now ready to stamp their authority on the Amateur division - and set themselves up for a jump to Intermediate, or even Pro division going into the next season. - Chrisis

9 - Team Supremacy
GroovyGrape, Julz, Flip | + 2 New
A huge week for team Supremacy, making it up two places on the power ranking and regaining some of their olden day's glory with a return to the top 10. Their greatest achievement... existing after the #oceshuffle, and they even participated in a tournament! Really great work by these boys and I'm sure they are over the moon. Not all is good news for them, however, as Jatz has left the side, and Singularity has managed to move past them because of their more consistent results. With Team Supremacy sticking together, it's going to an interesting time watching them, as we don't know whether they will pick up a new player, and whether they'll be putting in the hard yards this offseason to keep climbing. - yumi_cheeseman

10 - Mayne eSports
Seniaz, Snowy, Stics | + 2 New
When Mayne first broke into the scene they definitely looked strong. No one knew anything about them and they were taking games off decent teams. Since then they seemed to have slowed down a bit while trying to find a steady roster.
Mayne only played gameroos this week due to CGm finals coming up. They did well in the Tuesday comp bowing out to Legacy 3-4 in a very close bo1 in the quarter-finals. On Thursday they, unfortunately, didn't make it out of the group stage. Hopefully, they go back over their replays this week, before the weekend, and see where they went wrong as they will be playing the CGm finals. Mayne, most likely, come into the CGm finals as favourites and shouldn't be satisfied with anything less than winning the whole thing.
This is Mayne's first time breaking into the top 10 rankings and is definitely through their consistency from regularly playing tournaments which a lot of teams should be aiming to do. It should definitely be a motivational (and morale) boost for the boys at Mayne. Especially with CGm finals just around the corner.
