Weekly Round Up
Congratulations to JAM Gaming on taking out the Throwdown S3 Finals! They’ll have another chance at glory this weekend in the ESL AU&NZ S2 LAN Finals on Saturday, where they’ll be favourites to take it out. Pale Horse eSports however will have a lot to say on the day, so keep an eye out for them. In internal news, yumi_cheeseman recently announced he's taking a break from the Power Rankings. His lovely Throwdown counterpart Courierlord will be joining the panel in his place on a trial basis over the next few weeks.

Rankings
1 - JAM Gaming
MontyConnor, Express, shadey | Nil movement
JAM.... what more can we say, unquestionable top again and again. The combo of Express and shadey is getting ridiculous. Highlight after highlight of pass play goals from these two with MontyConnor getting in there sometimes for a complete team play goal. Their play is fast with great passing and synergy and teams are not able to deal with it They took out The Throwdown Challenge taking out Pale horse 4-1 in close games, but JAM just kept edging them out. JAM have their first opportunity to win their first live LAN finals this Saturday at the ESL Studio in Parramatta and will be throwing everything they have into this to get that first live title for Expess who has been so close time and time again, and shadey who came 3rd at AU&NZ Champs at IEM Sydney. MontyConnor has also had 2nd’s and 3rd’s with a trip to RLCS but is yet to lift the trophy. They are the strongest team right now and its time to stop being the bridesmaids and finally take their spot at the altar to lift that trophy? Expect to see JAM_Pulse in the crowd chewing off whatever nails he has left in between handing out stickers! - Tibore
2 - Pale Horse eSports
Kamii, Kia, CJCJ, Julz, xkorez | + 2
It's hard to deny Pale Horse eSports their Top 2 slot this week. After a big win against their fellow speed demons Scylla Esports, and another against The Other Team, they are sitting in fine form. Whilst unable to topple the titans of JAM Gaming, they are a relatively young team and keep improving at a rapid rate. We are seeing the evolution of their play style each week with some crazy pass plays and dribbles in particularly. If they can tighten up their play when they are behind I wouldn't be surprised to see them going to RLCS next season. - Courierlord
3 - Scylla Esports
Dumbo, aoe_emp, SnarfSnarf, Daisu | - 1
Scylla sit now in a solid but easily removable 3rd spot for this current week, having been overtaken by Pale Horse who just can’t seem to have a mare. With the core now entirely back, playing as a core unit but still struggling with overall results. Easily beating out Conspiracy with a straight 4-0 in the MCS, as well as the same victory over Chiefs would suggest they look strong, but the 4-1 thrashing from Pale Horse will be leaving the squids feeling a bit raw. If they want any chance of taking back that second spot, they need to bring their absolute finest over the coming weeks and with Chiefs hot on their tails it’ll be a hard one. - Nutterres
4 - Chiefs ESC
Drippay, Torsos, Jake, ENiGMA | - 1
Throw out the results from Billy Fan Club, ex-Alpha Sydney have an org, and what an org! The Chiefs have an amazing pick up on their hands here and in my opinion this team plays better under the banner of an org. They struggled since the change to Billy Fan Club but I expect that to all change now. They didn’t perform to their standard in Throwdown and they will be aware of that. Live Finals have been theirs for a long time now and they will not be wanting to let this one slip. They have a few games of MCS Wednesday Night against two teams they will likely face at LAN in The Other Team and Pale Hose and will be looking to assert dominance not only in the league but sending a message that they are back. - Tibore
5 - The Other Team
Cyrix, Ellusive, Siki, Requiem | Nil movement
The Other Team only have a few sparse results over the last couple of weeks but it still guarantees them a solid 5th spot. Having been defeated multiple times by the now 2nd ranked Pale Horse, this squad will need to pull it together for the upcoming RLCS season to give themselves any chance of making it to the LAN at the end of the year. With Legacy starting to find their footing as well, they have to start pushing soon or they’ll be moving rather rapidly down the ladder and could struggle to find their footing again. Getting more involved over a few more tournaments could also help their cause if they can gain some positive results from them. - Nutterres
6 - Legacy eSports
Soma, Plitz, ZeN | Nil movement
It’s the status quo this week for Legacy as they made light work of 2KF1, comfortably defeating the Moist Kites in the final. They’ve been struggling for some potent results against the higher ranked teams of late; the 2-4 loss to Chiefs ESC being a significantly better result than last week’s beating delivered by Scylla Esports. This much is to be expected however as they have only been playing together for a short time. There is a lot of potential in this line up and if they manage to tap into it they could really shake up the rankings. - n0lsk1
7 - The Moist Kites
Spiral, Curto, Seniaz, Decka | Nil movement
Holding on to their spot this week are the Moist Kites. These guys have been slowly and steadily been climbing the rankings, with recent results making a strong case for holding on to 7th place over YAES’s inactivity. They went unchallenged in 2KF1 until they reached the final, falling to Legacy eSports. Realistically it may be some time before they can break into the top 6, but they’re showing all the signs of positive growth. Don’t underestimate this lot. - n0lsk1
8 - Conspiracy ESC
Slurpee, Hectic, WallcottsPace, Triggsy | + 1
An uneventful week for the aspiring side, one certainly they’d like to forget. A stunted run in 2KF1 and a thrashing from Scylla Esports can potentially be damaging for their confidence. Every team has their bad weeks however; I expect them to put this week’s results behind them and bounce back stronger this week. - n0lsk1
9 - Feint
Flawe, Myst, Tulendeena, Erit | + 1
Feint are perhaps falling into their old habits of inactivity, not showing up in any other tournament except their match in MCS where they were quickly snuffed out by JAM Gaming 0-4. This week however they’ve fortuitously gone up a rank thanks to YAES as they haven’t played with their core roster in over two weeks. It’s time they showed the other teams what they’re capable of, like they did when they arrived back in the scene not long ago. - n0lsk1
10 (tied) - YAES
Addzey, CJM, ORION | - 2
Previously Team Skyfire, YAES are a team that doesn’t play a lot of Power Ranked Tournaments from week to week but when these 3 veterans of the OCE scene show up, expect them to complete and be a potential roadblock for the teams above the on the PR. - Tibore
10 (tied) - To Be Decided
xAimmzzzz, Snipershaw_RL, Zombiefreak-v4z, Rothie__, Carno460 | New
One of, if not the only PS4 team to ever make it onto the power rankings, these boys have some skill and they’re really starting to flaunt it. With names that may not be commonly recognised, promising results over the majority of teams ranked below them sees a tied 10th spot taken up. With results in the previous week even including wins over both The Moist Kites and Pale Horse, the core 3 seem to be able to take it to the best of them. Their only problem now could be moving up the ladder, but with drops in form from both YAES and Conspiracy, we may even see them jump up immediately next week. - Nutterres
